Creative campaign for a major regional festival
Founded in 1990, Durham Book Festival is one of the country’s oldest literary festivals. For many years it was a well-kept secret in the region’s cultural calendar, but it has grown significantly in recent years.
We were appointed to develop the creative for the 2016 festival. With ‘ideas’ as a central theme we developed a playful illustrative style where people immerse themselves in books. Books are an escape, they take us on a journey, we wanted to reflect this in a whimsical graphic style.
The creative rolled out across a printed programme, outdoor street banners, posters, adverts and online materials, ensuring coverage of the festival was maximised.
