Following a drop in footfall since the pandemic, Newcastle Gateshead Cultural Venues are uniting to call on the public to return to in-person performances, exhibitions and events.
We worked with the venues to create a joint campaign to encourage more people back to cultural venues.
The Make Your Moment campaign aims to highlight and celebrate the many diverse experiences audiences can enjoy and inspire them to visit. The campaign emphasises the array of cultural art forms and experiences that can be enjoyed in NewcastleGateshead and invites people to ‘make their moment’ when they visit any one of the 14 venues.
Every venue is different, and no one day out will be the same. #MakeYourMoment encourages people to experience something new or something they’ve missed over the past few year. The campaign also encourages visitors to share those special moments via social media or on postcards in the venues.
Eclectic rythmic messages and imagery pick up on experiences across the venues. From cinema, galleries and museums to music, theatre, science and dance, we want to energize culture, spread the word and celebrate just how much we have to experience in our region.
It was no mean feat to ensure all art forms and venues were represented on the main campaign executions. Individual socials were also created for each venue as part of a campaign toolkit, giving each venue the freedom to post organically to support the paid media yet focus on messaging that is unique to them.
The campaign is running on large format outdoor channels across the city as well as across digital platforms. It’s been a huge team effort with the NGCV team supporting the concept 100% and helping to organise a whistle stop static and motion shoot with volunteer models.
Copy support came from Mam’s the Word, PR with Emma Pybus, videography from Second Draft, photography from Mark Slater as well as media buying and support from SD Advertising, Global and Clearchannel.
The campaign is supported by Newcastle City Council via the European Structural and Investment Funds, and Gateshead Council.
