Growing Well are a specialist mental health intervention. They champion recovery through outdoor activity in their three Cumbrian therapeutic gardens.

Founded as a social enterprise in 2004, over the past two decades Growing Well has been attended by thousands of beneficiaries from across Cumbria and North Lancashire. For people in their community who are feeling depressed, anxious or finding everyday life difficult, Growing Well can provide free effective support for mental ill health in Low Sizergh near Kendal, Tebay Services and West Cumbria.

Having reached a 20 year milestone, we were appointed in April to work with this incredible organisation. We’ll be defining and articulating their story, establishing core messages to communicate to a very broad audience and considering how this influences their visual language.

With such a broad offer, as a mental health day service that helps build emotional and horticultural skills, they also operate as a business, growing fruit and vegetables for local veg box customers and supplying Tebay Services and farm shops with veg supplies.

We’ll be meeting staff and stakeholders over the next few months to get an understanding of their views and perceptions of Growing Well, underpinning our work with real insights from their community.

We kicked off the project with a visit to their Tebay site, the team were brilliant, we even had the pleasure of a hot soup lunch. A real warm welcome from a wonderful team. We can’t wait to get underway. Watch this space.
