Our Freedom: Then and Now Exhibition

Our Freedom: Then and Now is an arts programme uniting 60 art centres and libraries to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE/VJ day. The team worked on the identity last year, how time has flown!

It was up on the top floor of Southbank Centre, pretty special. Seeing how artists and communities responded to the theme of Freedom was so inspiring. Especially the exhibition itself displayed pride of place along the Riverside terrace of Southbank.

Speeches from Annabel Turpin and Gavin Barlow captured just how much has gone into the past year, and to have MP Stephanie Peacock and Arts Council’s Simon Mellor there, really highlighted the importance of this amazing community programme.

Such a buzz in the room from artists, art centres, libraries and communities who made it all happen. Well done to everyone, proud to have played a small part in a huge year for you all ❤️
