We’ve been finishing early on Fridays for four years now. Two years ago, we moved our finish time from 3pm to 1pm, and it’s become one of the best decisions we’ve made.
Knowing the weekend starts at lunchtime gives us all something to work towards. We focus, get things finished and avoid that slow Friday afternoon feeling. It’s good for productivity, but more importantly, it’s good for our wellbeing.
Those extra few hours have taken us to the beach, into exhibitions, out for long lunches and into the garden with a book. They’ve meant more time with the kids, getting jobs done, washing the car, seeing friends or simply doing absolutely nothing. It’s only a few hours, but it changes the whole feel of the weekend.
Nothing groundbreaking. Just a small change that gives everyone a little more time and energy for life outside the studio. By Monday, we’re ready to get going again.
