Nominated for her work here at Altogether as well as her wider roles as co-leader at Ladies, Wine and Design Newcastle, trustee at Old Low Light and Visiting Professor at University of Sunderland, we are over the moon she has been recognised for the time, energy and commitment she gives.

‘To receive the award amongst an incredible shortlist of inspiring women was just the proudest moment!

Thanks to Danielle Brough at Mam’s the Word copy for nominating me so covertly 🙂

Coming from an ex-mining town in the North East, let’s just say I would never have aspired to something like this.

It feels like it’s testament to every late night, every campaign idea that wasn’t quite there so you keep working at it, and honestly, every moment of doubt where you think you’re not good enough, and question how did you even get here!

I’ve had amazing role models and colleagues who have inspired and supported me this far, especially the team around me and my co-founder Michael, without them I wouldn’t have the back up or freedom to work outside of my ‘day job’. This award doesn’t just reflect my work, it’s recognition for the whole team.

It’s also for all of the remarkable women working in marketing and creative roles, and who have already paved the way. It’s for those who challenge for equity, equality and inclusion in the industry, for representation and for more seats at the table. And for those to come… the next generation. Because we still have a long way to go, it’s up to all of us to push for change for the better, so in the future women choosing this as a career path feel equal, valued and heard, and importantly can see the opportunity, the possibility and the positive impact they can make.’

We are so proud of Sarah, flying the flag for the North East!
