NECCR Children’s Cancer Run

A campaign to raise awareness of a children’s charity event.

The Children’s Cancer Run is an annual fun run, held to raise funds for a local children’s charity. Now in it’s 37th year the event has raised over £6 million and attracts more than 10,000 runners.

While the event is incredibly successful, the run has the capacity to raise more money for charity by attracting more runners and encouraging those who do run to raise more sponsorship.

To appeal to a wide audience, predominantly familes and schools, illustrations are used to communicate the experience of the Children’s Cancer Run. Featuring runners in costume, people of all ages and the famous Greggs picnic which each finisher receives, an illustrative approach gives us flexibility to adapt the creative. This has been applied to posters, adverts, programmes, event banners, badges, t-shirts and medals. The campaigns run across outdoor, online and print communications.

The success of the event year on year has lead to the growth of further fundraising initiatives such as the Carlisle Children’s Cancer Run and the recently held Children’s Cancer Ride.
