Northern Net Zero Accelerator

Creating a brand to help decarbonise the North East, Teesside, and Humber.

NNZA is a new initiative to drive innovation in low-carbon energy, storage, and integration to help decarbonise the North East, Teesside, and Humber. Funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, the programme brings together universities, industry, government, and communities to deliver an equitable transition to net zero.

We created a bold new identity for NNZA with a mark featuring two arrows forming the ‘N’and ‘Z’ letterforms. One arrow represents the acceleration of decarbonisation, showcasing the region’s positive trajectory toward net zero and the programme’s focus on maximising local impact and driving growth.

The second arrow highlights the accelerator’s role in reducing carbon and supporting innovations towards net zero.

Together the arrows symbolise partnership, collaboration and the united efforts of industry, civic bodies, and the third sector to achieve a shared vision of a sustainable future.
